Removing Bug Splatter from the Windshield

The bugs are back. And they're going splat… all ver our windshield.

We ran into a huge swarm of them coming back from West Michigan the other night. So I spent Saturday cleaning our RV.

We did this little video to show you what we use to get all that bug debris off.

Dobie scrub pads work very well at removing windshield bugs, as well as from the whole front end of the RV

We learned the dryer sheet trick from an RV forum years ago and used it, sometimes daily, during our RV travels. I would add a couple of suggestions. The fabric softener in the sheets leaves a film on the windshield if it’s rinsed off with only plain water. So, be sure to wash the windshield with soap and water after scrubbing with the dryer sheet. Conserve water by putting the soapy water and the rinse water in a bucket. We also used an extendable handled double sided window washing tool with a scrubber on one side and a squeegee on the other side. Wrapping a good quality microfiber cloth around the scrubber side and/or the squeegee side also works well.
