Our Organizational Tweaks to Keep our RV Unclutterd

Everything has a place, and there's a place for everything.

That's Jennifer's mantra for our RV Lifestyle and after we picked up our new 2017 Roadtrek CS Adventurous XL the other day, I spet the frst two days adding little organizational helps t various parts of the RV.

Nothing major, mind you, just some ways to keep the things we take wit us on every RV trip from taking over all our space.

Here's a video I did on some of our tweaks.

    Hi there–

I’m enjoying your videos. For some reason, I’m unable to comment on YouTube. I’m presently without a rig, but for 47 years I had a “chassis mount camper”, the predecessor to Class C, with a pickup cab and a motorhome back end. The motorhome part was 15′ long; the whole thing was 25’7″ bumper to bumper, built on a Ford F350 dually chassis.

The bathroom was a wet bathroom, much the same as in your Roadtrek. We went through a series of toilets for one reason or another, but all shared one common problem. When showering, water from the shower would get into the toilet. By the time we would all shower (sometimes 2 adults and 2 kids, sometimes just 2 adults), the bowl would be at least half or more full. Because the blackwater tank on the rig was not very big, that meant it had to be emptied more often.

Solution: a standard kitchen garbage bag over the toilet! Since it was always my job to clean the bathroom, this also helped out, because I didn’t have to wipe down the toilet. I still had to wipe down the floor and make sure all the water made it into the drain. Then I would spread the shower curtain all the way again, and within a short time, it would be dry. I typically hung the garbage bag on a towel rack to let it dry, and then at the end of our trip, whether it was just a weekender or a several weeker, I tossed the garbage bag.

I’ll share other ideas I developed over all that time, from time to time–you can use them as you see fit. If you’d rather I do that by email, let me know. Mine is [email protected].
