The Clothes We Pack for an RV Trip

A viewer named Lilli writes: “I am brand new to Class B travel, and I would love it if you would share your clothing list for a 2-3 week trip in mild weather. If you already have a packing video, will you please direct me to it? Thanks for your help!”

Well, Lilli  we didn’t have such a Video…. sp we made one just for you… and anyone else who may find it helpful

First of all, you don’t need a clean outfit for every day. Which means you don’t need as many clothes as you probably think. For Mike and me, it works out to this:

Clothing we take

  • 5 changes of underwear
  • 5 T-shirts or short sleeved tops
  • 1 long sleeved shirt or blouse
  • 1dress shirt or blouse
  • 2 pair of shorts
  • 2 pair of jeans
  • 1 pair of hiking pants
  • 1 light weight sweater

For shoes we take:

  • Sandals or flip-flops
  • Running shoes
  • Hiking boots
  • Optional: 1 pair of dress shoes

We keep the shoes in the bottom of the storage cupboard under the sink

Where do we put all the clothes?  We use eBag Packing Cubes. (

We each got three of them from Amazon. Mine are blue, Jennifer’s are rose… and we use the medium size. All the apparel we just listed fits in the cubes folded and neat and we keep them on opposite sides of the rear storage in our 2017 Roadtrek CS Adventurous XL 4X4

Then there’s the wardrobe closet. In there, we each take a raincoat, a light weight jacket and a sweatshirt. If we want, there’s still room to hang up a couple of tops and slacks or nice outfits, to prevent wrinkles.

So there you have it… the clothes we take for a two to three week trip.

And yes, we do laundry on the road. About every five days.
