Almost ours

Written by on March 22, 2012 in Observations

Monday is when we take possession. We have a previously scheduled Florida vacation scheduled with family for the week after and will be driving down three days after we take possession.

So do we take the new Roadtrek? Is a Michigan-to-Florida trip a little too ambitious for our first outing? Jennifer wants to slowly get her confidence up driving the RV. I’m good to go. But since the condo we’re staying in will have four cars from our family members, I’m worried that there will be no place to park the nearly 22-foot Roadtrek.

I’m spending a lot of time reading RV forums online.

I joined the Good Sam Club. I ordered a bike rack for the Roadtrek.

I can’t wait.

That is awesome! Being an avid trailer camper, I would say if this is your first RV, do not drive it to Florida, especially since you already have a condo to stay in. First time RVers should plan a short weekend trip to a popular campground to get a feel for setting up and taking down, with plenty of other campers around to give advice. You will learn more from other campers than any other source!

Welcome to the world of RVing! There is no greater way to travel, and you will meet the best people who just want to be outdoors and share their stories with you. And trust me, you’ll have a few stories of your own from that first time out!
